Monet's Garden's of the Villa Moreno, Bordighera, 1884, is one of 38 paintings Monet made during a 10-week stay in the Italian coastal town of Bordighera, 30 miles east of Nice, in the gardens of the French consul and citrus grower Francesco Moreno. Monet's experience in Bordighera is credited as a turning point for the artist, leading ultimately to the revolutionary beauty of his later garden pictures at Giverny.
